Comfrey in The Garden
,
Comfrey has so many uses. If you have lots growing, make sure you use it as mulch in your vegetable garden. Another more efficient use of the comfrey leaves involves making green liquid fertiliser from them. Half-fill a bucket with leaves you have cut from your comfrey plant. Fill the bucket with water. Let this sit in the sun for a week and then use it to water your seedlings or any plants that need some extra nutrition.
If you have lots of comfrey growing, give it a drastic haircut, leaving just a few young leaves. Run your lawn mower over the leaves and catch them in the catcher. This makes excellent mulch to put around your vegetable seedlings. When I do this the difference is very noticeable with larger, more healthier plants!
